WE ARE VOLUNTEERS
These communities are made up of us… We are volunteers who have chosen to live our lives for the good of the whole, rather than for ourselves. We have embraced the freedoms, joys and difficulties of living this way, and voluntarily choose to stay together, because of the love we have in our hearts for one another and our Creator!
We Live Together
On our farms and in our communities, we live together like an extended family, sharing all things in common, just as the disciples of Yahshua (the Jesus of the Scriptures) did in the first century. It is an amazing life, and you can come and see it for yourself at any of our locations featured on the iVolunteer website and on our main website: www.twelvetribes.org.
On this site, you will be introduced to some of our locations around the world and have the opportunity to connect. We welcome volunteers to stay with us and learn about farming and the life we share. There is so much to learn. We are learning together!
Our Agricultural Nation
We realized many years ago that in order to fulfill what was in the heart of our Creator for man, his highest creation, we needed to be an agricultural people. The greed and selfishness of humanity has reached its corrupting influence into every aspect of society, including the food and farming industry. The Spirit of Love demands that we give ourselves to grow good, wholesome food for our people and for others.
It is not easy to grow food using organic practices, and we still have many things to learn. So many in today’s world have opted to take the easier way, or the path where the most amount of money can be made, sacrificing the quality of life that comes from true nutrition and a good conscience. Spiritually speaking, this environment is the only kind of healthy soil where love can grow.
So we don’t grow food to make money or to have the biggest harvest possible. We give ourselves to the struggle of producing our own food because we love our brothers, sisters, and children, and we want to live long, healthy lives so we can give all of our strength to serve our God and one another. We eat to live, not live to eat.
There is a harmony, or maybe you could call it a song, that needs to be heard coming forth from all of creation. We are learning to work with the biological life that is in the soil. We are learning about all the beneficial insects that are our “friends,” that we would surely not want to poison with herbicides and other such things. We and our children are coming to understand husbandry and are “reaping the rewards” of caring for animals such as cows, sheep, goats, and chickens.
Did you know that mankind was actually placed on this planet to be its caretaker – to rule over all of creation, and to work in a harmonious and synergistic way with it? Sustainable living, however, begins with sustainable relationships. Friendship with the bugs and the soil wouldn’t mean much without our friendships with one another. Our farms ought to be a witness of our love for one another.
So yes, we are learning to work together as families, communities, and tribes. We give ourselves every day (and often into the night) to meet the pressing needs of, not just our own family or community, but of other communities nearby or far away. This is what makes us a “tribal nation.”
Yet there is no warring among us, because we are determined to turn our “swords into plowshares” and our “spears into shovels.” We are those who are serious about seeing the life that Yahshua, the Son of God, came to establish be a genuine witness of togetherness and self-sacrificing love. We are living together in a world falling apart…

So please come. We could always use a helping hand. And you just may have something that we need, just as we may have something you need. This is how our life works as we each do our part, so that from our heart comes a harmonious song of love and unity!
