Little Mountain Farm
  • About

    Roughly 20 minutes from downtown Winnipeg, our farm is located in the Little Mountain area of the RM of Rosser. This is the land of the big sky, with warming sunrises and stunning sunsets. Just inside Winnipeg’s Perimeter Highway, we are a small mixed farm including cultivated fields, a greenhouse and gardens, fruit trees, a small apiary, and shelters for our animals.

  • Opportunities

    Depending on when you come, we have various activities relating to sustainable agriculture: field and garden cultivation; food processing, including baking, cooking, and fermenting; animal husbandry; and establishing and maintaining sustainable relationships. We have established a healing environment where you can join us as we work together, share our meals, and care for one another.

    Further opportunities are provided by a few of small businesses we help staff in Winnipeg; a bakery, a deli, a machine shop, and a tea production facility. Both yeasted and sourdough bread as well as sweets are baked, using our own spelt flour. Food is prepared and served in our deli. There may opportunities in either the machine shop with metal fabrication and manufacturing projects, or in tea mixing and packaging.

  • Accommodations

    There are bedrooms in the farmhouse and the adjacent shop, both shared and single occupancy, depending on availability. There are also common areas for social or solo activities. There are several bathrooms available

  • Transportation

    We are near the Winnipeg Airport. There are a few bus lines that operate in and out of Winnipeg, as well as a train station in the city center. We are available to pickup or drop of as the need arises.
